60s Vintage Wool Black Shift Dress with Moscow Origins - XXL

Black wool dress with a high neckline and a front tie closure. It features long sleeves and a midi-length skirt with flouncy bottom.

МОСКОВСКОЕ АТЫО translates to "Moscow Atelier" or "Moscow Workshop/Studio."
ЖЕНСКАЯ МОДА translates to "Women's Fashion."
So, the label essentially says "Moscow Atelier / Women's Fashion."

This dress was likely made by a state-run garment factory or design studio in Moscow specializing in women's fashion during the Soviet Union period (mid-20th century, likely 1960s-1980s). It's not a "brand" in the modern consumer sense but rather an identifier of its origin within the Soviet fashion industry.

Due to the fabric, texture and weight, in comparing to fabrics used in the US, I am going to say it was made closer to the 1960s. I could be wrong on the era, but either way it is a fabulous dress!

Condition: Really Good vintage condition. A few moth bites and repairs.
